The HighScope Foundation was established in Michigan more than 40 years ago by Dr. David Weikart. Its mission is to develop and promote the HighScope educational approach, an early childhood program. This approach was validated through the Perry Preschool Project, a major longitudinal study.
The HighScope educational approach is research-based. Its main foundations include active learning, democratic adult-child interactions, and a learning environment in which children can make choices and explore hands-on materials.
The HighScope approach values children’s active involvement in play and in their community, in partnership with adults, within a stable and reassuring daily routine.

The mixed-age model, inspired by the family unit, brings together children of different ages and profiles, allowing each child to find their place, contribute to the group, and develop at their own pace.

The educational record is provided to parents twice a year and, with their authorization, is shared with the school setting.

Over several years, CPE Aux Mille Jeux has carried out a project to set up a welcoming and well-stocked library in each of its facilities to foster a love of reading from early childhood. Today, more than 4,500 books are available to children, educators, and families, thanks to the commitment of the Book Committee and numerous volunteers.

CPE Aux Mille Jeux reserves 9 spaces at its Tambourin facility for children (Little Bees) with suspected language disorders (dysphasia). These 'Little Bees' are between 2 and 5 years old and are also clients of the CMR. Each child is integrated into a regular group at the CPE that corresponds to their age and developmental level.

Inspired by this proverb, the CPE places great importance on a healthy and balanced diet, which is essential to a child's overall development. Our menus prioritize variety, fresh fruits and vegetables (often locally sourced), whole grains, and both plant-based and animal proteins.
Meals are prepared on-site with care, limiting processed foods, salt, and added sugars. Each child is also provided with a water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day.
